Welcome to Spring Valley PTA

The mission of the Spring Valley PTA is to positively impact the lives of all children and families by representing our members, to provide funds to support 21st century teaching, and to create community and encourage involvement through PTA sponsored social activities.

Go Stallions!

Hello Spring Valley Families,

On behalf of the Spring Valley PTA Executive Board, welcome to the 2020-21 school year! Although school will be opening this year with distance learning, SVPTA is just as committed to our students, families, teachers, and community as we have been in years past. Our board is working hard to support our families and our school, strengthen our children's education, and ensure each student has the tools they need to have a fantastic year. With your help, we believe we can meet and exceed these goals regardless of the learning platform.

This year, our school needs your help more than ever. Our children and teachers still need school supplies, computers, access to varied learning resources, and--more urgently than ever--the sense of belonging to a caring and committed school community. Many of our families have faced unprecedented hardships. Distance learning will have its unique challenges. And we must take action to ensure our community raises a generation of informed citizens committed to equality and peace. We have a huge opportunity this year to make a difference, and we hope you’ll join us in our mission.

Consider taking these steps--there’s truly an opportunity to fit every family’s situation:

  • Become a member of the SVPTA. No experience necessary. No required activities. Your membership gives you voting rights that help direct your dollars and our school programs. Join the PTA

  • Share your ideas. Attend SVPTA’s Assembly Meetings and join the conversation on our goals for this year and how we are meeting them. Share your ideas and experiences for remote learning and events! Meetings are typically held on the second Thursday of September, November, January, March, and May. Calendars

  • Volunteer. Whether you can share your professional or personal expertise or a hidden talent; whether you can help on a big program, for an hour a week, or for 30 minutes for a specific event, you are definitely needed and appreciated. Look out for our emails and check here to find out more and let us get to know you!

  • Donate. Every dollar counts. We recognize the financial hardships some of our families have faced, and have adjusted our target goal and budget this year to those items we still need to support the success of our students. Please help us meet this modest goal in a tough year for fundraising: donate if you can, as much as you can, and take advantage of corporate match opportunities! Donate here

All of our Executive Board Members and Committee Chairs are available to answer any questions about SVPTA and provide you with resources for this year. Welcome to the 2020-21 school year and thank you for your support!

Yours truly,

SVPTA Leadership Team

Spring Valley Elementary has a New Family Buddy Program!

We’re excited to launch our first New Family Buddy Program!

New families are paired up with current Spring Valley families to create a buddy system that will help welcome and connect families in school. This will help ease the transition into a new school by providing some familiar faces for kids (and parents)!

If you’re interested in participating in the New Family Buddy Program (as a New Family or a Buddy/Mentor Family), please email info@springvalleypta.org. Make sure to include your child(ren)’s grade level and teacher.

Yearbook Corner

Create a Tree Ring account and you'll be able to order the 2020-2021 SV Yearbook, edit your two free custom pages, and use e-signatures! When creating a new account, please use a parent's name and email address. Learn more about the yearbook, custom pages, or create a Tree Ring account now.

PLEASE help fill our Yearbook! Share your photos of school or classroom activities from holidays, school spirit days, class projects, etc. Fifth grade parents, send us your child's baby photo for the special yearbook layout. Email your favorite one to us!

Students who did not take pictures during Picture Day can still be included in their classroom's portraits page. Parents can submit a vertical, head-and-shoulders photo of their child. Any color, simple background will do.

Please email all yearbook photos to yearbook@springvalleypta.org. Send them in before March!

Remember, when you make a sponsorship donation to the SVPTA at the $300 level, one yearbook is already included! We will order one on your behalf.
