When parents are more involved, children do better in school. Kids are more motivated to learn, leading to higher self-esteem and a more fruitful learning experience. Volunteering is one of the best ways to help build the SV community while supporting our children and our school.

Classroom Volunteer Opportunities: Helping teachers with their classrooms, being room parents for class activities, helping with class projects, and being an extra support to the teacher.
Out of School Volunteer Opportunities: Assisting teachers with prep work, maintaining the garden, and maintaining the PTA website.
PTA Events and Activities: Fall Welcome Event, Trunk or Treat, Winter Dance, Heritage Days, Talent Show, Food Relief Drive, Book Fair, T-shirts and Yearbooks.

For in-classroom volunteers (including chaperoning field trips), you will need receive Volunteer Clearance from the MESD. This requires a background check, fingerprinting, and negative TB test results/assessment.
